Vernal Pond Display and Critters at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Center. And for the kiddos we'll have our Vernal Pond Field Guide Coloring Books and Wooden Snake and Salamander Painting Tables. Preregistration and fee is required by IRWS/Mass Audubon, and they are the event hosts and coordinators. The CAVPT are guest presenters at this event and are not handling any of the event details. Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team will have the following... 1. We'll have a number of live vernal pond critters on hand in a tabletop exhibit. 2. We have an incredibly lovely children’s coloring book entitled My First Field Guide to Vernal Pools Coloring Book, Massachusetts Edition, by Dr. Kristine Hoffmann for the kiddos. We'll have tables for the kids to color, and they can take the books home. 3. Finally we have another interactive young children's tabletop activity wherein we provide wooden salamanders and snakes and paint pens and the kids paint their own artistic rendition. This is a really big hit for the youngsters, and they take home their own hand painted critter.
