Director Position Descriptions for FY 2018

We have developed two full time positions to maintain our current operations and work to accomplish our Vision of building a Wildlife Center. The positions are Director of Operations and Director of Finance. A description of duties is listed below.

Director of Operations

  • Prepare for and attend all activities including Field Trips, Presentations, Exhibits, Surveys, Conservation Work, and Special Events — this is quite extensive and more information about our activities is available on our website under Activities
  • Coordinate activities with vendors and providers and schedule to calendar
  • Maintain equipment for Presentations, Exhibits, and Surveys
  • Participate in Wildlife Center planning meetings and work that evolves from those meetings
  • Plan Concert Fundraiser, participate with committee
  • Plan Yard Sale, participate with committee
  • Ongoing care for and maintain for all aspects of critters and snakes in our care
  • Newsletter planning through completion/dissemination
  • Annual appeal planning through completion/dissemination
  • Meet with potential donors
  • Visits to New England Wildlife Center and other wildlife facilities
  • Coordinate list of vendor Activities for 2018 in February and help prepare letter
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Meetings with our City Planning Department
  • Coordinate volunteers for all Activities

Director of Finance

  • FUNDRAISE — don’t forget 75% of all donations are individuals
  • Maintain and update website
  • Process payments and expenses both on and off website
  • Complete all bookkeeping on iFinance, update accountant through tax year end, and publish all completed documents on website
  • Update GuideStar
  • Update Giving Common
  • Facebook integrate
  • Website updates, scroll 2 pages, testimonials, one call to action per page
  • Logo/Brand/Slogan
  • Get volunteers to help photograph activities and get to me
  • Help put T-shirt and hat order together
  • Coordinate activities on calendar
  • E-Blasts
  • Assist planning Concert Fundraiser, participate in committee
  • Participate in Wildlife Center planning meetings and work that evolves from those meetings
  • Meet with potential donors
  • Meetings with our City Planning Department
  • Visits to New England Wildlife Center and other wildlife facilities
  • Help coordinate list of vendor Activities for 2018 in February and process mailing
