On Wednesday, July 16th, 1PM EST, I will be putting on another hour-long presentation through Athena’s Advanced Academy, titled Your Guide to the World of Wikipedia. The topic will be on Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation as a whole, including Wikipedia’s sister sites, with special emphasis now how to use them and contribute to these websites. I have been a Wikipedia editor for 10 months (with almost 80,000 views on articles I’ve edited), but I have used articles from Wikipedia for information for much, much longer, and find learning about the site fascinating. This presentation will serve as a guide for those interested in the world of Wikipedia, exploring the navigation of Wikipedia, the goals of the website, the history, other Wikimedia projects, and an overview of the editing process, including the different types of editing that can be done and how to go about it.
